Some Vegas Highlights

As I said in the last post, we have been working very hard on getting our new blog/site and everything up and looking awesome. We have 3 engagement sessions that we will be sharing with you once our new blog/site is up. In the meantime, I thought we would share a few random photos from Vegas.

The first day we got to Vegas, Kathleen and I just walked around and tried out the new 5DII for the first time before our sessions out in CA. I LOVE palm trees!!

Kathleen trying to figure out where we should go to lunch that day.

On Friday we met up with Becker, Keats and a bunch of other really great photographers at the Hard Rock Hotel.

It was a good meal and good times!

Our friends Dale and Meredith from Benfield Photography took this photo of us.

On the first day of the trade show we found one of our photos that placed as a finalist in a national competition hanging at the show. This was a big honor to us!

We were also very honored to have a bunch of our work made into canvas gallery wraps and cards and hung at the Collages.net booth. Thank you to our wonderful couples, Lisa and Marc and Kristel an Michael!

One night we went over to the Bellagio with Vicki & Erik to enjoy the fountain show.

We can’t wait to share with you the two Southern California Engagement Sessions as well as a New York Engagement Session that we just did. Be patient, we will have them up on our brand new site soon!! :)

We’re Back!!

Hey Everyone, It has been way too long since we have blogged. We have been in Vegas for the annual WPPI conference and also in CA for two engagement sessions. In addition to all of this we have been working really hard on our brand new, custom blog/site. We hope to have this up and live within the next week!! We will share photos from our recent sessions once we finish with the new blog. It will definetely be worth the wait! :)

So hang in there just a little bit longer, we will sending out the update really soon. Hope everyone is having a really wonderful weekend!!

Weddings 2008

It took much longer than we thought, but I am so happy to let you all know that we have finally put together our 2008 Wedding Slideshow.

We highlighted photos from every wedding that we photographed. What a year, what incredible weddings. It is about an 11 minute slideshow so grab a snack and get nice and comfy! :). It is always so much fun and a little emotional for us to look over the past year and see all of the wonderful weddings we had the privilege of attending and capturing. We get to work with the most wonderful people, we hope you enjoy this as much as we enjoyed being part of all of these weddings.

Soon we will be announcing our new business name, new blog/site, new logo and a whole bunch of really exciting things. We can’t wait to share all of the work we have been doing. Thank you for all of you who made 2008 a huge success, we can’t wait to work with all of our amazing 2009 couples and see all the great things that this year brings.

We hope you all had a great week… Enjoy the show :).

Inspiration: Steel Blue & Fuchsia

This is a color palette from a wedding we photographed back in August, Elizabeth & Kevin at the New Haven Lawn Club. Click here to see our post about their day. Elizabeth selected classic tea-length bridesmaids dresses in steel blue (definitely something they could all wear again). To warm up the whole look, fuchsia was the perfect compliment to the steel blue, and created the perfect pop of color.

The gorgeous flowers were done by Jen at Fleur de Lys in New Haven. (www.fleurdelysfloral.com) The lighting and room décor were done by the incredibly talented Darin and his crew at the New Haven Lawn Club. ( www.nhlccatering.com) When you walk into the Lawn Club and see the vintage chandeliers and original fixtures, you feel like you have walked into a classic old-Hollywood mansion. And with all the flowers and lights picking up the steel blue and fuchsia color palette, there was no other word to describe the room… it was magical.

I’m loving putting together these inspiration boards! It’s so much fun to look back at some of our weddings and admire all the details and colors we’ve seen at weddings. We completely understand how much work it is to plan a wedding (we were there not too long ago ourselves). I remember one of the most amazing feelings was the first time we saw our reception room on our wedding day – to see it all together and perfect, it was incredible. That’s why I love these boards so much – a great way to give our couples a little touch of that feeling all over again.

We’d love your feedback – what do you want to see for our March board?

WeddingWire Bride’s Choice Award!

Kathleen and I just found out that we were chosen to win a WeddingWire Bride’s Choice Award. We are very excited and flattered, you can read about it here:

WeddingWire, the nation’s leading wedding technology company, just announced that RJT Pictures has won the 2009 Bride’s Choice Awards™!

In its inaugural year, the Bride’s Choice Awards recognizes and honors vendors from the WeddingWire Network that demonstrate excellent quality of service, responsiveness, professionalism, value of cost and flexibility. This year’s recipients represent the top three percent of WeddingWire’s vendor community, which includes over 100,000 wedding vendors from across the US. That means RJT Pictures is one of the very best Connecticut Wedding Photographers.

Unlike other awards in which winners are selected by the company, the Bride’s Choice Awards are determined exclusively by recent newlyweds through surveys and reviews.

“We are excited to launch this annual award program to honor high-performing vendors based solely on the experiences of our WeddingWire community,” according to Timothy Chi, WeddingWire’s Chief Executive Officer. “This year’s recipients have set the bar high, exhibiting excellent service and expertise in the wedding industry.”
