Some Vegas Highlights

As I said in the last post, we have been working very hard on getting our new blog/site and everything up and looking awesome. We have 3 engagement sessions that we will be sharing with you once our new blog/site is up. In the meantime, I thought we would share a few random photos from Vegas.

The first day we got to Vegas, Kathleen and I just walked around and tried out the new 5DII for the first time before our sessions out in CA. I LOVE palm trees!!

Kathleen trying to figure out where we should go to lunch that day.

On Friday we met up with Becker, Keats and a bunch of other really great photographers at the Hard Rock Hotel.

It was a good meal and good times!

Our friends Dale and Meredith from Benfield Photography took this photo of us.

On the first day of the trade show we found one of our photos that placed as a finalist in a national competition hanging at the show. This was a big honor to us!

We were also very honored to have a bunch of our work made into canvas gallery wraps and cards and hung at the Collages.net booth. Thank you to our wonderful couples, Lisa and Marc and Kristel an Michael!

One night we went over to the Bellagio with Vicki & Erik to enjoy the fountain show.

We can’t wait to share with you the two Southern California Engagement Sessions as well as a New York Engagement Session that we just did. Be patient, we will have them up on our brand new site soon!! :)

Day Trip to Sedona

Today we decided to take a day trip out to Sedona to get away from all the craziness of the conference and enjoy the only really warm day of our trip. It was really wonderful to get to experience a completely different landscape than what we are used to at home. The mountains and valleys as well as the red rocks were simply beautiful and in most cases breathtaking. We spent a lot of time just shooting for ourselves and trying to take it all in.

Here are just some of the many photos that Kathleen and I took today.

OUR SIDE TRIP… to In-N-Out Burger!!

On our way back from Sedona I was really craving a burger so I had to stop and introduce Kathleen to the wonder that is an In-N-Out Burger. For those of you who have never been, the next time you are out west, you need to go! There are only 4 things on the menu, but totally worth going.

So good!!

We will be back late tomorrow night and back to work on Thursday. Hope everyone had a great week! Any photographers out there want to grab lunch in the next week or so? We would love to catch up. Talk to you all soon.

We’re in Phoenix!

As some of you already know from following us on Twitter, we are in Phoenix for the ImagingUSA Conference put on by PPA. We will however have plenty of access to e-mail so if you need anything please do not hesitate to let us know. We thought we would share just a few photos with you. Hope everyone back home is having a great weekend, we hear it is quite snowy. Stay warm and we will talk to you all soon!!

By the way if anyone that we don’t already know of is also out here, please let us know. We would love to meet up!!

We got up very early yesterday morning to catch out flight. As we were waiting to board the clouds over the runway as the sun was coming up were just beautiful.

The palm trees around the city are a nice site.

As we were walking over to the convention center this afternoon, I spotted this really cool church, I really liked the architecture.

The mountain view from our hotel room up on the 12th floor.

New Year’s Eve in Ireland (2005-06)

To celebrate the New Year, we decided to post a video from our best New Year’s Eve ever.

Dublin, December 31, 2005

We arrived in Ireland a couple of days after Christmas. For the first couple of days we explored the city. In our explorations we discovered a very cool pub. It was a three-story building along one of the cobblestone streets in the Temple Bar area of Dublin. On the first floor was a traditional bar, similar to one you’d find in New York or Boston, with a cover band playing a lot of American hits. The second floor was an adorable restaurant serving that felt like the kind of place you’d find in a country inn. The top floor was our favorite – it was a true Irish pub filled with locals and a traditional Irish band. As soon as we discovered this place we knew it was where we wanted to celebrate the New Year.

New Year’s Eve day we had dinner at the restaurant on the second floor, surrounded by people from all over Europe. It was such a cool experience – the couple next to us was from France, the group to the other side of us were from Australia. Walking through the tables you could hear several different languages being spoken but there was one common thread, everyone seemed so happy. After dinner we headed upstairs to the pub to celebrate for the couple of hours till the New Year. The band was in full force and the room was packed – so much so the floor was bouncing. Rob and I looked at each other almost in disbelief that we had found such a cool place to be for the last few hours of 2005. After hours of classic Irish songs, the band leader let us know midnight was just a few minutes away. To mark the moment, he pulled out a poem by William Butler Yeats, “The Fiddler of Dooney,” and read it to the crowd. Definitely a once in a lifetime expereince – where else in the world could you hear a poem read in a bar before the New Year? I have to say hearing them play Auld Lang Syne and giving Rob a big kiss at midnight, I think we both knew 2006 was going to be a great year. And it was.

CT Photographers + NYC = Pure Craziness!!

While we were in NYC for the PDN Expo a couple weeks back, Kathleen an I spent the day with some fellow CT Photographers also in the city for the expo. Here is some of the craziness from that day!!

We met up with everyone at a little Irish Pub across the street from B&H, how fitting right. Our waitress took this photo. Here come the shout-outs (from left to right): Amanda (Harris) Herberger, Candace Jeffery, my beautiful (and super talented) wife Kathleen, Eric Foley, Val McCormick, Steve Depino, Tina Parsadanov, Carla Ten Eyck, and of course yours truly :).

Eric grabbed my camera and captured this photo of Kathleen & I, wow I am a lucky man!! :)

I took my camera back and returned the favor by shooting a quick shot of Eric. I really liked how is shirt looked in B/W

From one Irish Pub to another, it seemed to be the theme of the day.

Eric so badly wanted to pose at the bottom of the stairs, don’t ask me why :)… this is what he came up with…lol!

After being inside for a while, we decided to walk around the city. We stumbled upon this really cool garage door. The thing I think I like about this photo the most is that how Carla had to get an iPhone photo of me taking the picture. By the way Carla I would love to see some of those!! :)

I got Carla to put down her phone and we got a pretty kick-butt picture of the girls.

Kathleen took my camera and made Eric & I get in a shot.

We made random friends on the street, I have to give Carla credit for this shot.

I don’t even know what to say about this one, I think they were going for some kind of Spiderman thing, either way it makes me laugh.

Carla’s son is named Jack and Val’s husband share’s the same name so they thought this was only fitting.

I took a quick shot of Val as we were getting into Times Square but what really makes me laugh about this picture is the way Carla is laughing in the background. I can only imagine what Eric said or did to get that kind of reaction.

:) :) :) :)

AWESOME!! Yea Eric is actually behind a window in a store!!

I swear I told them to all look in my general direction, you can see how that worked out. :)

[b] School @ The W Hotel in Times Square

Last Thursday Kathleen and I met up with a bunch of fellow photographers at the W Hotel in Times Square. It was a great time, we got to meet some really great new people and hang out with some of the west coast photographers of came out such as [b]ecker, David Jay and Gene Higa. The Bui Brothers were also there, what a fun night!

Here is a shot some of the people who showed up. Thank you to our new friend (and fantastic photographer) from Long Island, Brian Calabrese for sending us this shot. Brian is the guy all the way to the far right of the shot.

Kathleen and I got in a quick photo with [b]ecker that we found up on the [b] School Blog.

Check back in a day or so when we will be posting the sweet engagement session that we did with Sarah & Scott while we were in the city. Also for all of you CT PUG people that we hung out with on Friday (you know who you are) we will be posting some of those crazy pics soon!!

We are also going to catch up with [b]ecker and some fellow [b] School Members tomorrow night and then our CT Pug Group on Friday.
