Pool Photos!!

Since posting pictures from the Malibu Wedding that I shot and of one of my brides jumping into the pool, I have had a lot of people asking me to put up some more pool pictures of her. I haven’t gone through all of them yet but here are a couple more. I hope you all enjoy!!

Marvin Sunk Band Pics

A little while ago, I got to shoot some photos of Billy & Michael’s band, Marvin Sunk. Billy & Michael are my brother-in-laws, their pic is the third one down. They practice weekly at their home studio and are really good. If you are ever in the central NJ area, they play out often. Here are just a few photos.

More Maura Photos!!

We are in in PA visiting our niece Maura this weekend, who is now 10 months old. I spent the whole morning with her having a little photo session. She is so cute and so full of expressions!! Here are just a few from today.

Headshots by [b]ecker - Video

While in Vegas, I met up with a bunch of really cool people to have some free headshots done by Becker. It turned into more of a networking thing than anything else, but it was a ton of fun. You can read more about this on my previous post. But today, I found that Becker posted a video slideshow on one of his blogs. I was very happy to see that I made it into the video multiple times, check it out HERE.

Capturing the Emotion…

In the middle of getting a lot of album design done today, I received a really awesome e-mail from Nicole who was one of my brides who got married in December. As a photographer, I am naturally very hard on myself, but getting this kind of e-mail from a client made me feel really great. It is such a good feeling to know that I can bring so much joy and happiness into people’s lives through my photography. And that is the true reason I am a photographer.

Here is what Nicole had to say.

Dear Rob…
Basically, I wanted to thank you once again for doing such a wonderful job.

It was so nice to see you and I wanted to let you know how amazing your studio looks! It is so wonderful to see how much your business has grown. I know this may be a bit cheesy, but because you captured the most important day of my life, I guess I feel some sort of connection to you. And though this may seem strange, to see you succeed makes me feel so proud. I feel so blessed to have found you! You are a remarkable photographer!

To see all of those beautiful photos on the wall… to see Bryan and I on your wall… really brought a tear to my eye. I am just so happy that you are doing so well. The clients you have booked for 2008 probably have no idea how fortunate they are… But they soon will find out and see!

Keep me posted on what’s happening with our albums… I am so excited!!!

Thanks again for everything… really.

A big hug,
Nicole

Thank you Nicole & Bryan for letting us be such a special part of your day!

Please also enjoy this photo, I am working on using a lot more textures in my work and here is what I came up with for this simple photo of Nicole and Bryan. I think subtle sometimes make a big difference.

New Video Light!!

So every time I go to either the WPPI or PPA conferences, I always come back with a list of things that I want to do to improve both my photography and the business. After WPPI this year one of the things I wanted to get right away was a video light so I could do some really cool things with light and create some really great pictures. What is really nice about this particular light is that is has a dimmer and a control for the scope of the light. (Thank you Jerry Ghionis for the recommendation) I’m psyched that UPS delivered my brand new Lowel ID light in which I will be bringing to all the weddings that I am photographing. I can’t wait to share some photos with you all after I use it.

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Destinations Destinations Destinations

Hey Everyone, I just wanted to take a second to let you all know about some new and really awesome things that I will be offering right away!! So here we go: As appealing as a destination wedding is, it’s not always something that is possible for every couple. For couples that would like to get married at home but still have that destination feel, we have several new and very exciting options:

Destination Engagement Sessions
Take me with you to your favorite place to create some great memories and incredible images. Use the images to add something different to your wedding reception decor or to have a one-of-a-kind engagement album. For samples, check out our recent Las Vegas & Malibu engagement sessions.

Destination Bridal Sessions
This is perfect for brides that want those glamorous magazine images, but don’t want to cut into the schedule of the wedding day itself. In these laid back sessions, time restraints won’t hold you back. You can put on your wedding gown prior to the big day and go to some place special for you. You could even put on a different gown to have a completely different look.

If you choose to do a bridal session after the wedding day, some daring brides might enjoy a “trash the dress” session. In those sessions you could go to the beach, jump in a pool, run in a field, roll around in mud and get as messy as you want with no worries. For samples see our New York City bridal session, and our Malibu, Califormia session (where a bride actually did jump into the pool!). These sessions are a blast!

Honeymoon Sessions
Too often couples come home from their honeymoon and realize that they only have a handful of pictures with both of them in it, usually taken by a passerby. Why not have me meet you there? In this one-day session I can capture the two of you laid back, relaxing in paradise. Bring a casual white dress and flips flops or whatever you would like. What better way to end your wedding album or to simply capture some awesome photos from your honeymoon?

So what are you waiting for? Give me a call or shoot me and e-mail and let’s go take some incredible photos at some amazing places. Oh and of course if you are interested in a destination wedding we do that too!!
