Paris - Days 2 & 3 - Quick Peek

Hey Everyone, I thought I would blog again from Paris!! We have been having a wonderful time, Paris is truly an amazing city. On Tuesday we went to the Eiffel Tower, the Notre Dame Cathedral and the grounds of the Louvre (we will be visiting all of the exhibits later this week. During the evening, I photographed Part 2 of Kathleen’s Bridal Session. We photographed it in front of the Eiffel Tower and wow it was really unbelievable. We had incredible light and Kathleen looked absolutely stunning. Part 3 will be later this week!!

Today we went to the Arch de Triumph, Champs de Elysées and this amazing photography museum that had a bunch of exhibits including an Annie Leibowitz exhibit with more than 200 of her photographs showcased. We ended the evening by relaxing on the bank of the Seine River. It has been a spectacular day.

So without further ado here are a few more photos. Of course this is only a preview, we will have far more when we get home. I hope everyone is having a great week!! (By the way, I am blogging from a non-calibrated laptop monitor so I am hoping that the colors look as I want them too…).

The Eiffel Tower is something very special and something even as I am writing this post, I can’t believe we saw. Here is one of my favorite photos that I took of the tower.

Kathleen is an amazing model and I very so lucky that I got to photography my own wife’s bridal session. This is truly an amazing place to photograph.

When it gets dark (which is around 10:00pm here, the Eiffel Tower lights up. This shot was taken with only available light (a street light and the tower in the background).

The famous Pyramid at the Louvre.

Notre Dame Cathedral - Incredible.

The Arch de Triumph at the end of the Champ de Elysées.

This was just a church that we were walking by tonight, I really loved the light on it so I couldn’t help but to photograph it. (I have a lot of photos that I captured for that reason). How amazing must it be to be a wedding photographer in Paris!!

I love the Metro Stations here, they are full of so many cool things to photograph. This was just a fun tunnel that I saw, I thought it was fun seeing the train go by through the tunnel.

Again I have a TON more photos that I can’t wait to share when we get home. I will be sure to blog in the next day or so, we are off to get some much needed sleep!! Talk to you all soon.

Paris!

Hey Everyone, just wanted to drop a quick blog note to let you all know that we made it to Paris. We had a little bit of a delay getting off the ground on Sunday evening because of the thunderstorms in the NY area but made it here bright and early for Monday morning rush hour at Charles de Gaulle Airport. When we got to our hotel this morning we were quite tired after the flight so we just relaxed for the most part today. We walked around the city for a little bit to find our way around, ate at this amazing bistro and then came back for the first part of Kathleen’s Bridal Session! For those of you who don’t know, Kathleen brought a wedding dress to Paris and I will be photographing a series of shoots around Paris to make up one great bridal session. I feel very luck to be able to photograph my own wife in such an amazing city.

Anyways, although not a lot I decided to share just a couple of photos from today. We are extremely tired so I will have to try and post a few more in the next day or so.

This first photo is of the amazing architecture of Paris, which I am already obsessed with. It is so beautiful! This is taken right from our hotel window.

I photographed Part 1 of Kathleen’s Bridal Session all inside with only available light at our hotel. How amazing does Kathleen look and how great is that cage veil!!

Well we are off to get some sleep, be sure to check back in the next day or so, I will try to post often. I hope everyone is having a great week!!

Elysia & Greg’s Wedding

Hey Everyone, we are off to vacation but I wanted to first share with you just a few photos from Elysia & Greg’s wedding which we photographed yesterday. Their day was so beautiful and Elysia & Greg are so wonderful to be around. The ceremony was at St. Matthew’s Church in Norwalk with the reception following at the Cobb’s Mill Inn in Weston.

I will have far more to post after we get back from our trip but here are some of my favorites. I hope you all enjoy!!

I love shoe shots so you can imagine how exicted Kathleen & I were when we saw this poster on the wall. It was the perfect background for Elysia’s shoe shot!!

I really like details like this.

Elysia & Greg standing right before they give their vows.

The bridesmaids watching on.

Greg started to tear up during the vows, this was such a nice and emotional moment. He also gasped in excitement the first time he saw Elysia walking down the aisle. So wonderful!

Going in for the first kiss as husband and wife.

A quick moment back in the church after the ceremony.

The wedding party dress colors were really great, we also really liked the shoes.

Elysia & Greg looked at eachother that way all day.

I LOVE tall grass!!

We had to stop traffic for this shot, but I think it is a fun one.

Simply beautiful.

Just for fun!!

This was a challenge to get to this location, we had to do a little minor hiking, Elysia even had to take her shoes off, but they really wanted to take photos down by the waterfall. I didn’t even tell them to do this pose, they were just so happy!!

I loved the details on the dress and of the shoes.

Last but not least, the cake. How delicous does it look!!

Thank you Elysia & Greg for having us be such a great part of your day, we had a wonderful time!! We hope you have an amazing time in Antiqua!! We will talk to you when we all get back. Congratulations again!!

Featured!!

The other day Kathleen & I met up with Candice from Jubliee Events. Candice is an incredible wedding and event planner with a great eye for detail. The funny thing is that her and I actually went to high school together (back in the day) and have now both have the distinct pleasure of working with wonderful couples.

When I got up this morning I went to my blog list (which is usually how I start my day) and was psyched to see that Candice featured us on her blog. It is a really awesome post complete with some of my photos that I took of Allison & Bryan on their wedding day while at the Carnival. How cool is that! We can’t wait to work more with Candice.

If you are need of a great wedding planner or are just thinking about using one, be sure to check out Candice’s site and blog. She is full of great ideas and really knows her stuff. Make sure you let her know that we sent you!!

I hope everyone is having a great week (although it has been a little dreary). Hopefully it clears up nicely for the weekend. Happy Thursday!!

Allison & Bryan’s Wedding

Yesterday was Allison & Bryan’s Wedding and it was simply an incredible day. I should warn you though that there are a lot of photos in this post because there were so many great things that happened. I think it is definitely worth looking through all of them though :).

Kathleen & I started our part of the day at Allison’s parent’s house while my second shooter Sue was with Bryan and the guys. It was so hot and humid out but that didn’t stop Allison from going outside for some bridal portraits. After spending some time with the girls we headed over to St. Edward’s in New Fairfield for the ceremony. As soon as Allison & her Dad started walking down the aisle, a huge thunder storm rolled in and stayed around for most of the ceremony. The later told us that they were happy about this because they happen to love thunder storms, so how cool is that!! The sun did come out right after the ceremony ended which was great because there was a carnival across the street from the church where we took some pictures of Allison & Bryan as well as the bridal party. What a FUN time that was!! Since Allison & Bryan are high school sweethearts, we even stopped by their high school for a couple quick photos there. Then it was off to the Candlewood Inn in Brookfield where we took a couple more relaxed portraits by the water and went in to enjoy their reception complete with a fire dancer. (By the way I really love working at the Candlewood Inn - they always do a wonderful job!)

There were so many fun memories from their day, here are just a few of the ones that I captured (and a couple of Kathleen’s as well!!) Enjoy.

Allison’s smile is contagious.

We really loved the flowers that she had put into her hair, they were really beautiful.

One of my favorite bridal shots of Allison - she looked gorgeous.

Kathleen’s shot right after I took my shot, this is also one of my favorites.

Bryan right before the ceremony.

Allison’s Dad shaking Bryan’s hand, giving Allison a kiss and giving her away. Such a nice moment!

I LOVE the light coming through the veil!

I LOVE the smile and look on Bryan’s face as he looks over at his soon to be wife Allison.

How cute!!

I really love this shot that Kathleen got during the ceremony. I like all the negative space and the artsy feel of it.

How much fun is this! This is Allison & Bryan kissing (obviously) as their family goes crazy in the background.

Yes that is a ferris wheel, I was so excited to be able to take some of Allison & Bryan’s wedding formals at a Carnival - how often does that happen!!

This wall on the house of mirrors was awesome!

Running to get back into the cool limo - it was more than just hot yesterday, it was out of control.

I love the look on their faces, it shows how much they are in love. The reflection in the limo window wasn’t too bad either :).

The sky at the Candlewood Inn was so beautiful all afternoon and night.

During pre-ceremony, Kathleen & I noticed a wedding photo of Allison’s parents hanging on the wall - we thought it would be fun to re-create the pose.

The first dance - I got a little teary eyed during it, first dances always get me.

Nothing but smiles

Everyone joined in about half way through the song and Allison’s parent’s danced right next to them.

I just really liked the expressions on Allison & Bryan’s faces as the best man gave his speech. So happy!

Allison and Bryan love sunsets so I had to steal them away during dinner when I saw the sun setting over Candlewood Lake.

The wedding party joined us when they saw all the fun we were having!

The cake was really cool decorated in a beach theme. It tasted pretty great as well!!

Once it got dark one of the guests, a friend of Allison & Bryan, put on quite an awesome fire show.

A little slow shutter action.

Allison & her dad.

A little dancing action during Shout!

Allison’s parent’s dancing during the last dance.

The last picture of the night during the last song.

Allison & Bryan, your day was absolutely amazing and moving. We had an incredible time. Thank you so much for letting us capture it all. We hope that you have a wonderful time in Antigua - take a lot of pictures!! Can’t wait to talk to you when you get back.
